Insurance should feel like talking to someone you trust.
A lot of people put off shopping for health insurance because it feels confusing, rushed, or pushy. We do things differently. We listen to what matters to you, explain your options in plain language, and give you the time you need to decide.
Whether it’s just you, you and a partner, or a whole household, we’ll go over all of your options, Marketplace and Private, and help you feel good about where you land.

Who we help
If you’re buying coverage on your own, you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Insurance 101
Health insurance doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s what we walk every client through, so you can shop with confidence.
The monthly premium is the number most people compare first, but it’s only one part of what you’ll pay.
Illustration only. Real costs depend on the plan and how you use your coverage.
- Premium
- What you pay each month to keep your coverage active.
- Deductible
- What you pay for covered care before your plan starts sharing costs.
- Copays and coinsurance
- Your share of the cost when you see a doctor or fill a prescription.
- Out-of-pocket maximum
- The most you’d pay for covered care in a plan year.
- Network
- Which doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies a plan works with.
- Prescriptions
- Whether and how the medications you take are covered.
There’s more than one way to get covered. We’ll go over all of your options, Marketplace and Private, so you can see what fits.
Marketplace plans
- Offered through HealthCare.gov or your state’s marketplace
- Cover essential benefits like doctor visits, prescriptions, hospital care, and preventive care
- Can’t turn you down or charge you more because of a pre-existing condition
- You may qualify for savings based on your household income
- You can enroll during open enrollment or after a qualifying life event
Private plans
- Purchased directly through an insurance company, outside the Marketplace
- Some follow the same rules as Marketplace plans, while others, like short-term or fixed-benefit plans, work differently and may cover less
- Some may ask health questions or limit coverage for pre-existing conditions
- Marketplace income-based savings don’t apply
- Some can be applied for at any time of year
We’ll walk you through both side by side and explain exactly what each plan does and doesn’t cover, so nothing catches you off guard.
- List your doctors. Check that the ones you want to keep are in the plan’s network.
- List your prescriptions. Look them up on each plan’s drug list (called a formulary) to see how they’re covered.
- Think about how you use care. A few checkups a year looks very different from regular specialist visits or a planned procedure.
- Compare the total yearly cost. Add up a year of premiums plus what you’d likely pay toward the deductible and copays, up to the out-of-pocket maximum. The cheapest premium isn’t always the cheapest plan.
- Look at both kinds of plans. Marketplace and Private plans can work very differently, so it’s worth seeing them side by side.
- Ask about savings. Depending on your household income, you may qualify for help lowering the cost of a Marketplace plan.
Open enrollment
For 2027 coverage, open enrollment runs from November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027 in most states. A few states that run their own marketplace set different dates.
Special enrollment
Outside open enrollment, you can usually sign up within about 60 days of a qualifying life event, like losing other coverage, moving, getting married, or having or adopting a baby.
Private plans
Many Private plans aren’t tied to open enrollment, so you may be able to apply any time of year. We’ll let you know which options are open to you right now.
Not sure if you qualify? That’s exactly the kind of thing we can help you figure out.
- Names and dates of birth for everyone who needs coverage
- A list of doctors you’d like to keep seeing
- A list of the prescriptions you take
- An estimate of your household income for next year
- Your current insurance card, if you have one
You won’t need your Social Security number or medical history to get started.
